🙂 As a host family, our animals are especially close to our hearts. We take very good care of them. You are welcome to help us with the feeding times but we ask you not to feed our animals outside the feeding times or give them treats. Our animals have a very good routine and we only want the best for them. Thank you

Speaking of specialised:
Holiday at the horse farm

Our farm in the Passeiertal valley has been recognised as a specialised equestrian farm by the South Tyrolean Farmers’ Association and “Urlaub auf dem Bauernhof – Roter Hahn”. Ten criteria prove our distinction:

  1. TÜV-approved riding helmets
  2. Own tack room
  3. Each horse has its own saddle and bridle
  4. Trained & certified riding instructors (Alberich is cross-country riding guide)
  5. Farm folder
  6. At least five horses must be kept throughout the
  7. First aid kit in the stables
  8. Ten riding books in German and Italian in the house library
  9. Day toilet for our riding guests
  10. Cloakroom for our riding guests.

The special Steinerhof experience

Have you ever taken part in our three-day adventure trekking tour? No? Then it is time that you did! Small tip: It’s best to book the tour a year in advance, because the places always fill up pretty quickly. The event always takes place on two weekend in September!
Two dinners, two overnight stays with breakfast are included in the price, the rest of the meals, like lunch, are at your own expense. Contact us for more information! (2024 we don´t go)

Colourful animal world at the Steinerhof

What would a farm in the Passeiertal valley be without animals. Pretty boring.
That’s why we don’t just have horses at Steinerhof, but a colourful selection of all kinds of four-legged friends and feathered creatures:

  • two female dogs named Nala and Kaya
  • a tomcat named Curry
  • two ponies named Nelli and Merry
  • ten chickens
  • eight to ten horses (Haflinger and also other breeds)
  • our horses: Medea, Roxy, Lara, Penny, Fedelia, Nanu, Lexy, Farrani, Fortuna.
  • nine to fourteen head of cattle (South Tyrolean grey cattle breed), which enjoy the alpine freshness in summer and the cosy warmth of the stable in winter.

Get a taste of the farm when you look over our shoulders and help out with the barn work yourself: whether it be fetching eggs early in the morning, mucking out or feeding the cows.
